  3. Obtain the candidate copy of the stamped bank challan.
  4. Send a scanned copy of the paid fee challan and employment status document by email to research@vmou.ac.in.

PhD Disciplines and Selection Process

Selection for PhD seats is conducted via an entrance test followed by document verification and an interview. Candidates can track entrance test schedules and merit lists on the VMOU entrance exam notices page.

For the 2026 session, document verification and interviews took place on 08 February 2026. If a selected candidate fails to pay the fee within the stipulated timeframe, the seat is reallocated to candidates on the waiting list.

Research Advisory Committee and Progress Evaluation

Each admitted PhD scholar is assigned a Research Advisory Committee (RAC) constituted by the Director of the concerned school. The scholar’s Research Supervisor serves as the convener of this committee.

  • Reviewing the research proposal and finalizing the topic for Research Board approval.
  • Guiding the scholar on study design, methodology, and course identification.
  • Evaluating compulsory six-monthly progress reports submitted by the research scholar.
  • Recommending corrective measures or registration cancellation to the Director Research if progress is unsatisfactory.
