Programmes Not Recognized in Distance Mode

Fourteen ODL programmes submitted for recognition were not approved by the UGC-DEB due to faculty deficiencies under ODL regulations. These programmes cannot be offered in distance mode:

  • Undergraduate Degrees: Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
  • Postgraduate Degrees: Master of Computer Application (MCA), Master of Social Work (MSW), Master of Library & Information Sciences (MLIS), Master of Journalism (MJ)
  • Master of Arts: MA in Mathematics, MA in Geography, MA in Public Administration, MA in Education, MA in Sociology
  • Master of Science: MSc in Geography

Admission Dates and Ph.D. Updates

For the January 2026 admission session, VMOU extended the admission deadline multiple times. The initial deadline of 31 January 2026 was first extended to 15 February 2026, and later from 19 February 2026 to 27 February 2026.

VMOU has issued the Ph.D. Admission 2026 notification and released the final selection lists following document verification and candidate interviews. Guidelines have also been issued for second-year promoter admissions for B.Ed. students for the 2025-26 academic session.
